Good story but it would have been better had you mentioned radon. Radon is the number two cause of lung cancer and, in people who never smoked, it is the number one cause of lung cancer. Radon is an odorless, invisible radioactive gas created by the naturally occurring decomposition of uranium in the soil and bedrock. It’s easy to test for radon and relatively easy to mitigate your home, if high levels are found. The Environmental Protection Agency says radon kills 21,000 Americans a year.
